Training for Success students raise money for Action Cancer
The year 3 Training for Success - Skills for Work L1 students are working towards a BTEC L1 Certificate in Work Skills.
As part of unit 17 ‘Working in a team’ the students organised a Halloween event on Thursday 27th October 2016.The students had to come up with an event which would allow them to demonstrate their strengths, skills and experience in organising an event. The students produced written evidence and were observed demonstrating positive working behaviours in carrying out different roles.
As part of the event the students held a food hamper competition and sold ballots to help raise money for Action Cancer. The students were visited by Action Cancer at Millfield campus on Monday 14th November 2016 to receive the proceeds from the ballot.
The photograph shows Stephanie Ellis from Action Cancer receiving a cheque from the year 3 BTEC L1 Workskills class along with their lecturer Clare Corey. Well done to everyone involved!
