IT Apprenticeships
The Make IT your career! Gain IT skills and experience with training provided by Belfast Met, Northern Ireland's Designated Digital IT Curriculum Hub! We have over 50 IT Apprenticeship roles available with a wide range of employers. Successful applicants will be employed in one of the participating companies and receive “on-the job” training from Belfast Met.

Apprentices will be employed in various sectors covering a variety of areas depending on Pathway in areas such as Infrastructure, Software Development, Cyber Security & Cloud and Application Development roles with the firms investing in their training to enable them to gain a Level 3, Level 5 (Foundation Degree) or Level 6 (BSc Hons) qualifications (depending on program) and beyond.
The IT Apprenticeship applications open on the 1st March 2024.

Level 5 Higher Level Apprenticeships Courses
Level 6 Higher Level IT Apprenticeships Courses
Entry Requirements- Level 3
Experience is not required but applicants must possess a minimum of:
- 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Mathematics;
- AS or A-Level or equivalent Level 3 qualifications.
Entry Requirements- Level 5
The minimum entry requirements for the HLA program are:
- 160 UCAS points or 64 tariff points,
- GCSEs at C or above in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications such as Level 2 Essential Skills
Entry Requirements- Level 6
The minimum entry requirements for the Level 6 HLA program are:
- Foundation Degree/HND or Equivalent in IT related discipline
- GCSEs at C or above in English and Mathematics, or equivalent qualifications, such as Level 2 Essential Skills in Maths and English
