It costs nothing to get your Maths, English and ICT qualifications at Belfast Met
Essential Skills are the most important and useful skills we all need to succeed in education, work and everyday life. At Belfast Met, you can get qualifications in English, Maths and ICT while you are completing your course.
Our Essential Skills programme means that learning in these key areas takes place alongside your full-time study. We offer Essential Skills in Literacy and Numeracy from Entry Level 1 through to Level 2, and ICT at Levels 1 and 2
Get the basics or take the next step. At Belfast Met it is free.
Your Essential Skills is delivered in a format that will help you with your main subject. So if you are undertaking childcare, you will complete your English, Maths or ICT element with childcare in mind; while a business student will benefit from a business slant. This ensures the programme is much more useful and interesting for you, and easier too.
In order to ensure you are enrolled on the best course to suit your needs all potential students are required to attend an advice and enrolment session prior to course entry. An experienced Essential Skills Tutor will be available to assist you in making the right decision and to give guidance on course options.
Advice sessions take place at the College’s and Castlereagh Campuses and operate on a drop in basis. So take the first step and come along to one of our sessions. We look forward to meeting with you.
