Rugby students help launch the college’s recruitment season
Belfast Met Rugby students were on-hand to help launch the recruitment season. We asked four students about studying at the Belfast Met Rugby Academy.
Jake Elliott (17) from Lisburn is currently studying at Belfast Met’s Rugby Academy and was on-hand to help launch the college’s recruitment season. Jake said: “We train about four or five times a week in the gym and on the pitch and this is blended with the educational side, for example sports psychology and science elements of the course. I am enjoying the course and I’m hoping it will help me get on the path to becoming a physiotherapist.”
Natalie Watson (19) from Belfast is enjoying the educational and social side of studying at the College’s Rugby Academy. “I have made loads of new friends here and there is a real sense of community that is conducive to learning.”
Oussama Bouazza (16) from Finaghy, is currently studying at Belfast Met’s Rugby Academy. He said: “I am enjoying the course and I’m hoping it will help me get on the path to becoming a professional rugby player.”
Abbey Mahood (20) from Carrickfergus, is currently studying at the Rugby Academy said: “The beauty of this course is it is a direct lead in to university and when I graduate I can go on and top it up with a degree. As well as improving my career prospects, this course has allowed me to develop my skills and make new friends. It’s a great environment to study in."

Information Day, Titanic Quarter Campus, Jan 28, from 9am - 2pm
Full Time Open Day, Titanic Quarter Campus, Feb 2, from 12pm - 7pm
Applications to all full-time and some part-time courses commencing September 2017 will open on Saturday, 28th January 2017.
Note: Applications received before 28th January 2017 can only be processed from that date. Applicants can apply for up to a maximum of 5 courses.
