Celebrating Achievement CEA Awards

Belfast Met students were delighted winners at the prestigious annual CCEA award ceremony held last Thursday in Titanic Belfast. Celebrating Achievement award ceremony is a public acknowledgement of learners’ success recognising the commitment and dedication that drives our vocational learners. Award winners included:

Janice Carlisle – QCF Modern Languages French Entry Level 3 & German Entry Level 3

Janice is a really keen linguist and this year is studying French, German and Spanish at Belfast Met. She is hoping to move abroad to work in the next few years and feels her language skills will play an important role.

Charles Baker – QCF Modern Languages French Level 2

Charles retired several years ago and promised himself he would learn French. Last year he put his learning into practice on a trip to Paris. He is also involved in dog training, is a keen follower of rugby and has recently taken up Tai-Chi.

David Mann – QCF Modern Languages Irish Level 2

David retired after many years working for the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) in campaigning and managerial roles. He is keen on tandem cycling, walking and learning languages. He is the current chair of RNIB and the Secretary of Lisburn Outlook.

Anna Sendor – QCF Modern Languages Italian Entry Level 3

Anna works as a florist and also uses her creative skills to make cards, books and albums.

Gemma Montgomery – QCF Modern Languages Italian Level 1

Gemma works full time and enjoys socialising and reading. Gemma is looking forward to moving to Italy and working there in the future.
