Calling budding film makers!

At Belfast Met, we are committed to a wide range of European projects that give students and staff an opportunity to work with other colleges in Europe. One of the most dynamic collaborations is the Live Skills project. This project aims to help tackle skills shortages in the Creative and Cultural sector, in particular, within Audio Visual and Live Performance professions.

The Creative and Cultural Sector is a key growth area in Europe, but sometimes cultural professionals, such as sound engineers and film editors, need help with soft skills and business skills. The Live Skills project aims to address any skills gaps in order to drive the sector to sustainable growth.

Dr. Thomas Scott, Lecturer and Course Co-Ordinator in Creative Media, oversees the design of the curriculum for the project, whilst Angeline Kelly from the international team works on the management of the project. Angeline explains, ‘We are working with colleges in Romania, Bulgaria and Greece to build new flexible short courses for the sector. Belfast Met will be piloting the courses, so please sign up to the newsletter at this link if you’d like to learn more: www.live-skills.eu
