Belfast Met Students Celebrate Barbour Fund Bursary
Well-known local Industrial philanthropists the Barbour Family, alongside the Belfast Charitable Society established the Barbour Bursary fund to address disadvantage in a variety of areas, including education. For the second year in a row, two students from Belfast Metropolitan College are amongst those who received the award.
The educational bursaries of £500 each to Sorcha Earl-Collins and Chloe Atchison have enabled them to access valuable IT equipment that will not only help them pursue their current studies on the Foundation Degree in Science in Health and Social Care, but will also support them through their further studies.
Sorcha, who has received offers from both Queens University and Ulster universities to study a Nursing degree expressed her thanks to the Barbour Fund at a recent ceremony in Clifton House. Chloe, a first year student on the course also expressed her gratitude. She also intends to pursue a career in nursing once she has completed her course.
