Fusion Heating and Belfast Met Finalists in Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Awards

Fusion Heating and Belfast Met are delighted to have been shortlisted as one of three finalists in this year’s Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Awards - Small to Medium Enterprises (SME) Employer Award.


The awards ceremony is a highlight of the Department for the Economy funded Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Week that showcases the opportunities available through apprenticeships to applicants and employers across Northern Ireland. The awards competition received many high-quality nominations, and this demonstrates the difference that an apprenticeship programme with Fusion Heating and Belfast Metropolitan College can make.

A leading provider of Plumbing, Heating, Electrical and Property Services, Fusion Heating have over 15 years’ experience delivering large programmes of work to, Social Landlords, Energy Providers and Private Home Owners. Fusion currently employ and provide on the job training for five Belfast Met Plumbing apprentices at Level 2 and Level 3 and one Business Administration Level 2 apprentice. The company aims to lead the way in delivering award winning apprenticeship standards that support its succession plan. Apprenticeships with Fusion have many benefits for apprentices who can earn as they learn and receive a professional qualification. The apprentices also work with experts in the industry, receive high quality training with Belfast Met, have a designated mentor at Fusion and can avail of plenty of professional and personal development support.

Belfast Met has been an effective training provider for Fusion Heating’s apprenticeship programme since they were formed fifteen years ago and during this time the company has grown to around 100 employees. The development of the apprenticeships programmes is an excellent example of an evolving and successful strategic partnership. The College has a long-standing relationship with Fusion and is keen to continue to support the training and development needs of the apprentices and the business.
