Dutch Alliance Goes from Strength to Strength
Building on relationships with our Dutch partners, Belfast Met’s International Office has succeeded in securing an additional €340,000 in Erasmus+ mobility funding to develop a new 2 year Sustainable Enterprise Training in Action (SETA) project. Through SETA, 140 Belfast Business School students and 20 staff from across Hospitality, Travel and Tourism, Beauty and Business will collaborate with students from our partner college in Netherlands - Stichting Onderwijsgroep College, Tilburg to offer BMC students the opportunity to travel to Tilburg to engage in a comparative study detailing working practices in both the Netherlands and Northern Ireland. In addition, BMC students will collaborate with local government agencies in Northern Ireland to support opportunities for BMC students to bring to market their ideas/products and work in partnership with peers from the Netherlands on sustainable enterprise initiatives. The students will also gain an OCN accredited certificate.
The SETA project builds on the successes and experiences gained in previous Erasmus + projects secured and developed by the International Office including the KA1 mobility project – ICE with GRIT – a successful forerunner of this project which brought together over 100 students from Belfast Met and Koning Willem 1 College in the Netherlands to share and experience ICE (Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship) and GRIT (Growth, Resilience, Independence and Tolerance) through shared educational, cultural and short placements with the social enterprise sector (Business dept). BMC is also a key partner in the VET Network of Networks learning created to foster mutual learning and exchange of best practise - led by the Dutch Alliance – the Dutch foundation for international cooperation in vocational education and training, and lifelong learning.
