Belfast Met Scoops Five Gold Medals At IATBA University And College Boxing Championships

Five Belfast Met Boxing Academy students win gold at the first championship since the Covid pandemic.
The IATBA University and College Boxing Championships were held at 'The National Stadium Dublin' recently and it was great to have out students back in the ring. Our student Leon McMahon also got the chance to box in an exhibition the night before, against the current European Youth Gold Medallist, on the Ireland v Wales international.
Our five winners were:
• Garyn McAllister (Youth 91kg division)
• Leon McMahon (Youth 56kg division)
• Críostoir Browne (Youth 69kg division)
• Gianni Richmond (Youth 64kg Division)
• Jordan O'Donnell (Senior Intermediate 56kg Division)
This brilliant achievement reflects the great work of the Boxing Academy students with the support of the excellent Boxing Academy staff members. It also demonstrates how students can reach their potential as athletes in the ring and succeed academically through Belfast Met’s Boxing Academy.
