Future Leaders Academy

 

Are you a future leader? Do you wish to gain leadership and management skills and an accredited qualification, as well as valuable industry experience with a view to securing employment? The 24-week Future Leaders Academy may be for you. You will have the opportunity to achieve a Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification along with industry experience through a work-based placement.

The academy is designed to develop key skill sets in leadership and management and will focus on key areas such as:

  • Results focus
  • Making change
  • Planning
  • Team development
  • Risk management
  • Decision making
  • Communication
  • Customer service focus

The training will be further supported by masterclasses in CV building and interview skills, design and creative thinking, personal leadership style and behavioural profiling, organisational cultures, emotional intelligence and, resilience

Training will be online through a virtual classroom. You will need appropriate IT access (laptop/ PC and internet access) to link to the online tuition.

 

What Skills and Qualifications will you gain?

If you’re selected for the programme you will receive practical industry training and the opportunity to gain an industry recognised qualification, ILM Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to apply your newly acquired skills with a Northern Ireland based company. You will be matched with a local employer, according to your CV and career aspirations.

 

 

When will the Programme run?

The programme will run for 24 weeks in total, the academy will commence on Monday 24th January 2022 and finish on Friday 8th July 2022

Week and 1 and 2 (Monday to Friday 09.30-4.30pm) will consist of online teaching and Masterclasses in leadership and management.

From Week 3 to Week 24, you will attend online classes and masterclasses one day per week and you will attend a work-based placement from 9am to 5pm on the other four days of the week.

You will be working on a pre-arranged business improvement project supported by your employer and your tutor.

 

 

Remuneration

When you're on the training programme, you:
  • will receive a weekly training allowance of £150 (based upon full attendance)
  • will be reimbursed weekly travel expenses (if you are attending the College campus in person – it is planned that all training delivery will take place online, but you may be reimbursed if you are required to travel to your work placement)
  • may be eligible for childcare allowance

 

Entry Criteria

  • You are eligible to work in the UK
  • You have a degree in any discipline.


If demand exceeds place availability further eligibility criteria will be applied.

 

Application Process

 

The application portal will open on the 13th December 2021 and close on 12th January 2022.

Successful candidates will be informed on 14th January December 2022.

Training with Belfast Met will commence on Monday 24th January 2022 and the industry placement will commence on Monday 7th February 2022. The placement will end on Friday 8th July 2022.
