Skills for Life

Our ESOL Skills for Life programme is particularly suitable, if you are taking up residency in Northern Ireland. You will develop your skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. ESOL Skills for Life is offered at six levels:

  • Pre-entry
  • Entry 1
  • Entry 2
  • Entry 3
  • Level 1
  • Level 2
If you enrol on an ESOL Skills for life Programme, you will take the ‘City & Guilds’ Skills for Life exams at the end of the course. These qualifications are nationally accredited. The level 1 and level 2 qualifications are recognised in the UK by employers and some educational establishments.

You can study these courses on a part time basis either 5 hours per week for 1 academic year or 14 hours per week for 1 semester.

Belfast Met was awarded the 1st College of Sanctuary status in Northern Ireland in 2019.
