The Department for the Economy recently announced a £1.7m investment in skills development for those impacted by Covid-19. Through this investment, Belfast Met is delivering fully funded qualifications in areas such as, Leadership & Management, Marketing, Children’s Care and Education, Cyber Security and Digital Construction.

Futures Project goes online!

Lockdown has changed the way we interact with each other… the way we live, teach, learn and work. It has also changed how we do youth work; investing time with young people to develop new skills and supporting them to reach their full potential. Futures Project made the most of this challenge and didn’t hesitate in immersing itself on these new online and digital platforms. Young broadcasters use their wit and flair whilst working remotely

Karen Flynn and Conor Dougan from Belfast Met were auditioned and selected to take part in a BBC New Voices pilot programme this year. They are currently working from home during the pandemic, hired by BBC NI to write and record continuity announcements for the BBC Three content which is broadcast on BBC One Northern Ireland on weekday evenings.
