William Bradley - IT Apprenticeship

William Bradley B T

Apprentice with BT, William Bradley is undertaking an Higher Level Apprenticeship with a Foundation Degree in Cybersecurity  partnership with Belfast Met. He has recently been shortlisted for Higher Level Apprentice of the Year at the NI Apprenticeship Awards.

“I decided to undertake the apprenticeship in ICT, when an illness in the family meant I had to return to Northern Ireland. The apprenticeship programme offered a way to retrain while also earning. As part of the apprenticeship, I am working in second line support for networks, which is diagnosing faults on routers or switches. Belfast Met not only helped with a foundation in route and switch as part of the course but also allowed me access to materials to get the certifications for this.

In addition, to the qualifications I have achieved, I have been able to learn new skills, which is invaluable. It has also provided me with the opportunity to attend WorldSkills in Glasgow. Following on from the apprenticeship, I plan to continue with the top up modules to attain my full degree and continue to work within the Cyber Security industry. I can’t recommend the program enough the help support and opportunities for development while earning are second to none.”

If you are interested in undertaking one of our apprenticeship programmes or alternatively keen to find out if apprenticeship training could work for your business please contact the Centre for Skills and Apprenticeships at Belfast Met via telephone on 028 9026 5234 or email apprenticeships@belfastmet.ac.uk.
