Overview
The Active IQ Level 4 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy provides learners with the opportunity to further develop their skills base and competence, allowing them to treat and/or seek to correct common patterns of dysfunction and pre-diagnosed injuries. The qualification is suitable for individuals who wish to pursue or further a career in sports massage therapy, providing sports massage therapy to a wide range of clients including, but not limited to, sports performers, athletes, and individuals with pre-diagnosed injuries. This internationally recognised qualification is endorsed by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) and the Sports Massage Association (SMA).
Course Content:
The Qualification is made up of 3 mandatory units
- Conducting subjective and objective assessment
- Provide sports massage techniques to prevent and manage injury
- Treatment modalities to support soft tissue repair
You may be required to attend and travel to external sporting events that are often outside of the normal timetable and can sometimes be at weekends e.g. The Belfast City marathon, which is usually held on the May Day Bank Holiday weekend.
Course Manual cost is £63.00 (non-refundable)
Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy or an equivalent Level 3 industry recognised qualification in sports massage.
Please note that a valid Level 3 certificate must be available prior to the start of the course.
All students will be required to provide evidence of meeting the entry criteria prior to the start of the course.
Preference will be given to those applicants who has completed Level 3 in three months plus time frame.

Materials Fee = £63.00
Tuition Fee = £820.00
Fees are payable annually.

All students are actively encouraged to purchase a clinic uniform and suitable footwear as well as membership of the Sports Massage Association (SMA). This is a Professional Association that offers membership to students and qualified sports massage therapists. It offers details of national CPD, networking, and advise re Insurance for both student’s and qualified sports massage therapists (approximate cost for student membership £27).

Careers
Successful achievement of this qualification will give individuals a licence to practice as a Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist. This highly sought-after qualification can assist learners to increase/enhance their career opportunities, progression and earning potential.
Students who successfully complete this qualification may also progress to relevant higher level education programmes such as Sports Massage Therapy
