Essential Skills are the most important and useful skills we all need to succeed in education, work and everyday life. At Belfast Met, you can get qualifications in English, Maths and ICT while you are completing your course.

ESOL learners should have achieved level 1 in Reading, Writing and Speaking & Listening or be at this level.

After your application has been received, we will contact you to attend an initial assessment to determine which level is most suitable. Your assessment will be marked at your appointment by one of our tutors who will then discuss which timetable options are available to you.
