Applications to this course can be made through UCAS using code U429. The minimum entry requirement accepted for this course is 80 Tariff Points. There will be 18-20 students accepted on this course.
You will also need to have a keen interest in Acting, storytelling and cinema. Prior experience and/or qualifications in Acting, Moving Image/Film/Media is not mandatory but would be highly beneficial.
Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) for HE Courses
APL allows you to use evidence from prior learning or experience to gain entry onto a course at Belfast Met. Belfast Met will work with you to make sure that relevant learning or work experience is formally recognised through the APL Process. Entry requirements can changed and discussed on an individual basis if necessary. Proof of qualifications MUST be provided when you enrol, eg. exam certificates. Achieved and pending qualifications can be recorded within your online application account.
All courses within Belfast Met are delivered and assessed in English with the exception of language specific courses. Your competence in English must be verified prior to enrolling on your chosen course.

Students are assessed using a range of different methods.
Whenever possible, we make our assessment methods practical, with written components primarily being used to reinforce technical understanding and personally reflect on students performance. However, research is a core component to the development of any skillset, and so will be tested through written assessment alongside academic writing skills appropriate to the foundation degree level.
Careers
The structure of our Screen Acting and Producing course entails students developing a combination of performance, technical and soft skills for screen so student can become ‘Set Ready’ meaning, being ready for acting on screen for live action or multimedia productions. Therefore, our students will graduate from the course with 2 years’ worth of relevant experience that proves to mirror industry standards, making the transition into film production outside the college as seamless as possible. Our course accommodates individuals wishing to further their studies, particularly through top-up degrees that have been established with various partnering universities across the UK.
