Overview
This ApprenticeshipsNI course offers work-based skills development for those interested in a career journey in the world of Business Administration. Apprenticeships are a great pathway to consider over and above the traditional academic route for school leavers. They offer you an option to earn while you learn, providing valuable skills and experience as well as qualifications relevant to the industry you work in.
As part of the course, successful applicants will undertake a Level 2 Business Administration Diploma as well as essential skills qualifications in Numeracy, Literacy and ICT skills if required.

An Apprentice needs to be employed or be about to take up paid employment as an apprentice with a Northern Ireland company and be working a minimum of 21 hours per week (which includes off-the-job-training).
Non-academic course entry requirements
Important: All applicants must also meet the following conditions:
- be 16 years old by 1 July 2026.
- provide proof of:
§ Right to Study in the UK. For courses with work placement, proof of your right to work in the UK is also required.
§ Photographic proof of identity
- Provide translated copies of and/or demonstrate equivalency of non-UK qualifications.

To successfully complete the apprenticeship, you must achieve the following essential skills qualifications or already hold a recognised equivalent:
- application of number – level 1
- communication – level 1
- Digital ICT Essential Skills at Entry Level 3, or if you already hold Entry Level 3, you are required to work towards the Level 1 Digital ICT Essential Skills (DfE funded)
The essential skills are mandatory and are to be completed as part of the apprenticeship.
The apprenticeship in business administration is assessed in your workplace by one of our skilled Trainer Assessors, who will support you throughout your apprenticeship journey.
The Trainer Assessor will work closely with you and your employer to help you achieve your qualification and develop the skills and experience to be successful in your job role.
Students are assessed using a range of different methods.
These include exams, assignments, work place observations, knowledge questions and professional discussions.
This is dependent on the requirements of each unit of study. Oral, written and online feedback will be provided during your course.

This qualification has the potential to provide career opportunities such as Secretary, Receptionist, Administrator, Personal assistant, Office supervisor, Team leader, and Manager.
Upon successful completion of this Level 2 apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to progress to a Level 3 ApprenticeshipsNI programme. Subject to continued employment in a relevant job role.
