Overview
This is the first year of a two year full-time programme with a minimum of three AS subjects studied and exams taken at the end of the year. On successful completion of all three AS subjects you may progress to take the A2/A Level course in those subjects.

Applicants must be aged 16 or over on 1 July 2026. They must Have six passes at (Grade C or above) at GCSE, two of which must be GCSE English Language and GCSE Mathematics at a minimum of Grade C and the subject-specific requirements as shown below.
You will not be required to make subject choices until entry criteria is confirmed at the enrolment interview in late August, at which stage further advice will be given, based on your qualifications profile.

Most full-time A level students on the two-year programmes pay no fees but two factors determine whether a student is liable for charges:
- The student’s age on joining the course
- Whether the student is part-time or full-time

Careers
Students may only progress to A2/A Level in a subject if they have attained Grade A-E in the AS qualification of that subject. Students may only progress to Year Two if they have successfully completed three subjects at AS.
