Overview

As the function which represents the organisation’s customers, marketing makes a vital contribution to business success. If you are interested in developing your marketing knowledge and skills in order to pursue a career as a marketing professional, then this two-year full-time programme may be for you. 

A key feature of this programme is the emphasis on improving employability skills and in first year, you will complete a module on Personal and Professional Development to support career planning. In second year, there is a compulsory extended period of work placement as part of the Work Based Learning module when you will complete a live marketing project.

  • Graduates who achieve their Foundation Degree and who want to complete the Foundation Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing, are entitled to claim an exemption from ONE module.
  • Graduates who achieve their Foundation Degree and who want to complete the Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing, are entitled to claim an exemption from TWO modules.

Requirements

Minimum entry requirements are pre-defined by the College’s admissions criteria, which can be found by visiting our entry criteria page on this link

Enhanced entry criteria for this course is listed below:

  • A minimum of 72 tariff points at Level 3 (UCAS new tariff points for entry to Higher Education 2017) to include a minimum of two A2 level passes (Grade A-E) or equivalent

  • You must also have at least three GCSEs A-C/4-9 to include a minimum of a Grade C/4 in both GCSE English Language and Maths (or equivalent).

The Foundation Degree in Marketing is wholly coursework assessed and the methods used include:

  • Portfolio completion
  • Report writing
  • Case study analysis

  • Class tests

This is dependent on the requirements of each unit of study.  Oral, written and online feedback will be provided during your course.
