IT Apprenticeships

Make IT your career! Gain IT skills and experience with training provided by Belfast Met, Northern Ireland's Designated Digital IT Curriculum Hub! We have 40-60 IT Apprenticeship roles available with a wide range of employers.

Successful applicants will be employed in one of the participating companies and receive “on-the job” training from Belfast Met.

Apprentices will be employed in various sectors covering a variety of areas depending on Pathway in areas such as Infrastructure, Software Development, Cyber Security & Cloud and Application Development roles with the firms investing in their training to enable them to gain a Level 3, Level 5 (Foundation Degree) or Level 6 (BSc Hons) qualifications (depending on program) and beyond.

Entry Requirements- Level 3

Experience is not required but applicants must possess a minimum of:

  • 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Mathematics;
  • AS or A-Level or equivalent Level 3 qualifications.

Entry Requirements- Level 5

The minimum entry requirements for the HLA program are:

  • 160 UCAS points or 64 tariff points,
  • GCSEs at C or above in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications such as Level 2 Essential Skills

Entry Requirements- Level 6

The minimum entry requirements for the Level 6 HLA program are:

  • Foundation Degree/HND or Equivalent in IT related discipline
  • GCSEs at C or above in English and Mathematics, or equivalent qualifications, such as Level 2 Essential Skills in Maths and English
