Overview
This one-year course is aimed at qualified barbers over the age of 16 years , wishing to develop their skills and creative ability. Level 3 will give the opportunity to share experiences with other professionals and to help you realise your own potential. This course provides professional training of the highest standard in a realistic and modern working environment.
The subjects covered are the theory and practice of advanced Barbering which will include:
· Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon
· Cut men’s hair to create a variety of looks
· Cut facial hair to create a variety of looks
You will learn advanced barbering skills including: training in the College’s state-of-the-art, fully equipped commercial Barbering salon, where your clients will include members of the public for development and assessment purposes. You will further develop your skills through project-based learning, demonstrations, practical workshops, lectures, tutorials, competition work, master classes and industry visits.

Achieved and pending qualifications can be recorded now by logging into your online application account.
All courses within Belfast Met are delivered and assessed in English, apart from language-specific courses. Your competence in English must be verified prior to enrolling on your chosen course.
Entry requirements can change and be discussed on an individual basis if necessary.

Academic period 2026:
Examination / Registration Fee = £82.00
FE Tuition Fee = £350.00 (Concessionary = £210.00)
Fees are payable annually.

This course tuition fee is fully funded by the Department for the Economy.
You will be able to buy a Belfast Met uniform, costing approximately £45.00 and kit costing approximately £180 (if needed).
A List of kit requirements will be sent to students once enrolled.
Assessment on this programme will be by practical, written, and online assessment
