Overview

Get into Hospitality is a FREE  three-day course aimed at anyone seeking a full time or part time career in Hospitality, specialising in bartending.

You will gain a Level 2 qualification in the Principles of Customer service for hospitality and tourism.

You will receive training in the basics of bartending, including how to pour the perfect pint, basic cocktail making, health & safety, preparing the bar for service, the use of correct glassware, an introduction to the keg store, how to change a beer keg and spirit optic, general legislation and specific customer care pertaining to bartending. You will meet a range of local employers who have opportunities to join their teams

Day Three: Guinness Immersion

Visit the Guinness Storehouse, the World’s leading Visitor Attraction and enjoy a guided tour, a delicious Guinness or Guinness0.0 in the spectacular Gravity Bar, followed by lunch in Brewers’ Dining Hall

Eligibility

To take part in a Skill Up course or programme, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Applicants to be 18 years or older at point of enrolment.
  • Applicants must have a right to work and undertake training in the UK at the point of application and for the duration of the course and must not be disqualified from doing either by reason of their immigration status. Proof of this will be required to progress application.Prove your right to work to an employer: Overview - GOV.UK;
  • Individuals will be available to register in person at provider campus as required;
  • Individual courses may have enhanced eligibility, details of which will be provided by The Provider.

Documentation confirming eligibility of the above criteria will be requested prior to securing a place on the course.

Courses will be delivered in-person and learners must be available to attend both days.

Assessment

The students will answer 12 short questions on the content of the principles of customer service.  The practical workshops are not assessed.
