Higher National Certificate Level 4 Animal Management (603/2772/8)
Overview
For students with a love of animals, our animal care courses from Level 2 to Higher Education will provide you with the knowledge and skills to support your career in the animal industry. The HNC Animal Management offers our students various careers in Animal Management including Animal Science, Veterinary Nursing, Zoology, Animal Welfare, Pet Nutritionist, Behavioural Consultant.
During your course you will be working with pets and exotic animals and studying to understand their behaviour and health needs.

Following successful completion of Year 1, students have the potential to progress to Year 2 to achieve a Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Animal Management or there is the option to apply to universities with the Level 4 HNC qualification if desired. This is a popular option for students applying to universities for a degree. Completion of the HND may support progression onto year two of a relevant BSc degree programme (depending on individual university criteria).
A minimum of 64 UCAS Points to include a science subject at Level 3 (e.g. A-level Biology or Extended Diploma in Animal Management) plus GCSE Mathematics and English Grade C or equivalent (e.g. Essential Skills).
Applicants without formal qualifications but with demonstrable experience may be able to gain admission through the Accreditation of Prior Experience & Learning (APEL).
Please note that applicants must be able to provide evidence of immunisation (or immunity) against tetanus prior to commencement of any work with animals.

Careers
