Overview

This course is funded through the Skills Focus programme.

The Skills Focus programme is open to NI based businesses with less than 250 employees. Charities and Community groups are not eligible for Skills Focus funding.

 

This three-day online Adobe Photoshop course provides a practical introduction to the essential tools and features used in digital image editing and design. Through guided, hands-on exercises, learners will explore core techniques such as photo enhancement, layer management, selection tools, and basic graphic creation. The course is designed to be structured and easy to follow, making it suitable for beginners or those looking to build strong foundational creative skills in Photoshop.

 

Qualification Aim

 The aim of this Adobe certified professional qualification is to equip learners with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills required to confidently use Adobe Photoshop for basic photo editing, graphic design, and digital content creation.

 

The course will be delivered online each day from 9:30am to 16:30pm

Qualification Objectives

·         Understand the design industry – communication, audience needs, and legal/copyright

·         Set up projects and workspace – documents, interface, assets, colours, and tools

·         Work with layers, masks, and adjustments to organise and edit designs

·         Create and add content – images, vectors, and text using Photoshop tools

·         Modify and enhance visuals – selections, retouching, transformations, and effects

·         Export and publish media in the correct formats for different uses

Requirements

In order to avail of Skills Focus funding, applicants should be employees of NI based businesses with less than 250 employees.

·         Company based in NI

·         Charities and Community organisations are not eligible for Skills Focus Funding

 

Your employer will need to meet with a college representative to complete the short funding application form. This meeting can take place online or the college representative can meet in person with the employer

 

Course will be delivered online, and learners must have access to a computer or laptop and internet. Please note that tablets, mobile phones and TVs are not compatible and should not be used for this course. A microphone and web camera is also required to improve engagement in each session and to complete the exam assignment.

The programme is delivered under the Skills Focus initiative. Fees are up to 90% funded by the Department for the Economy.

Assessment

Assessment will take place through an online examination on Day 4, combining multiple-choice questions. Learners will demonstrate their knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, including key tools, techniques, and workflows.
