Course Overview
The Excel Associate course equips students with practical, employer-relevant skills in Microsoft Excel, one of the most widely used digital tools across all sectors.
Students will build confidence in creating and managing spreadsheets, using formulas and functions, analysing data, and presenting information clearly to support workplace tasks and decision-making.
The course is particularly suitable for learners roles that require strong digital and data skills.
Students will also have the opportunity to undertake the Microsoft Excel Associate certification exam, providing a recognised industry credential to strengthen their CV and employability.
Exam
The Microsoft Excel Associate certification exam assesses a student’s ability to use Excel effectively in a professional environment, covering core skills such as worksheet management, formulas, data analysis, and visualisation.
Proposed course dates for Skill Up Excel Associate course are:
• Friday 6 February
• Friday 13 February
• Friday 20 February
• Friday 27 February
• Friday 6 March – Exam date
The session will take place online from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Applicants would benefit from basic experience using Microsoft Excel, such as creating simple spreadsheets, entering and formatting data, and using basic formulas (for example SUM or AVERAGE).
A general level of digital confidence, including using Microsoft Office applications and working with data or numbers, will help learners get the most from the course, but advanced Excel knowledge is not required.
As this is an online delivery, access to a reliable broadband connection and a PC or laptop is required.
The course, including the exam fee, is fully funded under the Skill Up programme.
To achieve the MOS Excel 2019 qualification, you will be required to take an online exam via the Pearson Certiport platform.
This takes approximately 1 hour is scheduled to take place at the end of this course.
