Overview

This course is funded through the Skills Focus programme.

The Skills Focus programme is open to NI based businesses with less than 250 employees. Charities and Community groups are not eligible for Skills Focus funding.

 

This three-day online Adobe InDesign course provides a practical introduction to the essential tools and features used in page layout and document design. Through guided, hands-on exercises, learners will explore core techniques such as working with text and typography, managing layouts, arranging images, and creating professional documents. The course is designed to be structured and easy to follow, making it suitable for beginners or those looking to build strong foundational creative skills in InDesign.

 

Qualification Aim

The aim of this Adobe Certified Professional qualification is to equip learners with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills required to confidently use Adobe InDesign for creating professional page layouts, document design, and visual content for print and digital media

 

The course will be delivered online each day from 9:30am to 16:30pm

Qualification Objectives

·         Understand key design principles, terminology, and best practices for creating effective publications.

 

·         Create and manage documents using Adobe InDesign, including layouts, text, images, and styles.

 

·         Apply formatting, typography, and visual elements to produce professional-quality designs.

 

·         Organise content using layers, pages, and structured document workflows.

 

·         Prepare, export, and publish documents for both print and digital formats.

 

      This is a 90% funded Skills Focus course.  Please see Entry Requirements tab for specific criteria.

 

Requirements

In order to avail of Skills Focus funding, applicants should be employees of NI based businesses with less than 250 employees.

Confirmed Criteria 

·         Less than 250 Employees

·         Company based in NI

·         Charities and Community organisations are not eligible for Skills Focus Funding

Your employer will need to meet with a college representative to complete the short funding application form. This meeting can take place online or the college representative can meet in person with the employer

Course will be delivered online, and learners must have access to a computer or laptop and internet. Please note that tablets, mobile phones and TVs are not compatible and should not be used for this course. A microphone and web camera is also required to improve engagement in each session and to complete the exam assignment.

The programme is delivered under the Skills Focus initiative. Fees are up to 90% funded by the Department for the Economy.

Assessment

Assessment will take place through an online examination on the final day, combining multiple-choice questions. Learners will demonstrate their knowledge of Adobe InDesign, including key tools, techniques, and workflows.
