Overview
Computer game development is now a multi-billion industry and is one of the most exciting and innovative areas in computing today. The global video game market is expected to reach a value of £187 billion by 2025. Currently the UK has over 2100 active games companies working to deliver experiences on a wide range of platforms including PC, Console, Mobile and more recently through Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. It is one of the most exciting and innovative areas in computing today.
This full-time, two year extended diploma covers units that include, amongst others:
- esports Skills, Strategies and Analysis and esports Coaching
- Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in the esports Industry
- Health wellbeing and Fitness, Psychology and Nutrition for esports Players
- esports Events
- Business Applications of esports, Producing an esports Brand and Creating Social Media Platforms
- Live Streamed Broadcasting/Video Production
- Games Design
- Shoutcasting
- Customer Immersion Experience

Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) for FE Courses
APL allows you to use evidence from prior learning or experience to gain entry onto a course at Belfast Met. Belfast Met will work with you to make sure that relevant learning or work experience is formally recognised through the APL Process. These includes exams, assignments, coursework, Project Based Learning, presentations, practical assessments, role-play, and case studies.
This is dependent on the requirements of each unit of study. Oral, written and online feedback will be provided during your course.
