Overview
Belfast Met Boxing Academy was established in 2014. The Boxing Academy provides coaching and competition for aspiring male and female boxers.
The Boxing Academy has a rich history of success at national and international events. Previously boxers from the academy have won Ulster Championships, Irish University Championships, Commonwealth and Olympic medals with some individuals progressing to professional careers in boxing.
However the Belfast Met Boxing Academy is not just about those individuals wishing to compete at the highest levels. Belfast Met Boxing Academy will improve the standard of any individual coming through the Academy by exposure to full-time coaching and strength and conditioning with coaches who have experience of coaching at the highest level in the sport. More recently competitors in other combat sports such as MMA have joined the Boxing Academy to improve their boxing skills.
Players who have graduated through our Boxing Academy in the past have also progressed through academic routes in the college to Level 4 and level 5 courses.
As well as full time coaching and competing Belfast Met Boxing Academy students also have the choice of studying one of the following academic or vocational courses within the college. Please note your application for the Boxing Academy can only be accepted if you also apply to one of the following courses or be actively enrolled on one of the following courses.
