Course Structure:
Delivery: One evening per week 5- 9 pm (Year 1 Tuesday; Year 2 Wednesday)
Employment Requirement: Students must be 19 years and older. Students must be employed in management positions within the childcare sector**

Applicants must:
- Have evidence of competence in written and spoken English and numeracy (minimum Grade C GCSE or equivalent in each)
- Have attained at least 12 points at Level 2 or above (GCSE) or have alternative approved qualifications
- Have attained a pass in at least one A level subject or equivalent.
- Students need to have IT access and basic skills.
- Be in a leadership/management position, which includes responsibility for the development of staff, the review of policies and partnership with other professionals.
In the event of undersubscription, course criteria may be lowered
This Higher Level Apprenticeship (HLA) is undertaken in partnership with an employer, an employee and Belfast Met. Should all HLA criteria be met the delivery of the qualification is fully funded by the Department for the Economy. Employers are expected to pay employees a salary commensurate with the job role.
The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children's Care, Learning and Development (Management) contains no exams. Modules are assessed through a combination of portfolio of evidence, workplace observation, assignment work and professional discussion.
