This course is funded through the Skill Up programme. Skill Up has been designed to provide additional upskilling and reskilling opportunities to improve the skills profile of our local workforce.
About the Course
The OCN NI Level 2 Award in Awareness of Mental Health and Well-being qualification aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to work in roles that support mental health and well-being. It allows learners from all backgrounds to develop an awareness of mental health interventions and support strategies.
In delivering the Level 2 OCN in Awareness of Mental Health and Well-being we are able to provide learners with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to:
- understand mental health and mental illness
- understand the impact of mental illness
- be aware of mental health interventions and support
- understand the person-centred approach to mental health improvement and the legislative framework
The course will be delivered online on Thursday evenings from 5pm to 9pm over a 6 week period
Learners must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the programme:
over 18 years of age;
eligible to work in Northern Ireland;
Documentation confirming eligibility of the above criteria will be requested prior to securing a place on the course.
Courses will be delivered online and learners must have access to a computer or laptop and internet. Please note that tablets, mobile phones and TVs are not compatible and should not be used for this course. A microphone and web camera is also desirable to improve engagement in each session.
The course is assessed through completion of an online portfolio showing evidence of knowledge and understanding of the subject area.
