EAL Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Providing Electronic Fire and Security Systems (603/6194/3)
Overview
This Apprenticeship programme is a four year specialised course which works with some of the biggest companies in the security industry.
Apprentices will attend college two days per week in year one and on-the-job training for the remaining three days per week with a suitable employer.
In year two, apprentices will attend college one day per week and four days on-the-job training in addition to completing a level three portfolio in third and fourth year.
Apprentices are fully employed with an intruder alarm company. It is the responsibility of the apprentice to gain their own employer.

Applicants must:
- Minimum GCSE Grade C in Maths and English
- Be able to work flexible working patterns
- Be physically fit and be capable of working at heights and in confined spaces
- Not have any colour vision defects (evidence will be required)
- Be employed full-time as an apprentice from day one.
It is the responsibility of the apprentice to gain their own employer.
Applicants may be required to undertake a diagnostic test (IQ test). This may not be necessary if you have a suitable employer.
Non-native speakers must provide evidence of competency in English Language.
Non-academic course entry requirements
Important: All applicants must also meet the following conditions:
· be 16 years old by 1 July 2026.
· provide proof of:
o Right to Study in the UK. For courses with work placement, proof of your right to work in the UK is also required.
o Photographic proof of identity
· Provide translated copies of and/or demonstrate equivalency of non-UK qualifications.

Careers
Security Alarm Installer
The installer is responsible for general installation and maintenance of security and fire alarm systems. Their main objective is to install, program, and repair security and fire alarm systems. The security installer is also responsible for troubleshooting any wiring or equipment issues that may interfere with the safe and effective operation of the security and fire alarms.
Security Systems Service Engineer
Servicing intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems. Identifying potential opportunities using additional services for customers. Responding to out of hours calls.
