Overview
This course is designed for individuals who have already earned the OCN NI Level 3 Award in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and wish to further their qualifications by upgrading to the OCN NI Level 3 Certificate in BIM.
The OCN NI Level 3 Certificate in BIM aims to equip learners with a practical understanding of the theory, principles, and application of BIM within the construction industry. Building on the modelling skills gained in the Award, this course will deepen learners' knowledge of BIM concepts and workflows. It will also provide the essential skills to create BIM objects using industry-standard software tools.
The course consists of two units, delivered through a mix of online practical sessions, blended learning, and self-directed study:
• Building Information Modelling (BIM) Principles
• Building Information Modelling (BIM) Objects
OCN NI Level 3 Award in Building Information Modelling (BIM)
An understanding and appreciation of the construction sector would be beneficial including construction techniques, reading construction plans/drawings, and project management and delivery.
Learners must be at least 16 years of age to take these qualifications.
This course is funded through the Skill UP programme. Skill Up has been designed to provide additional upskilling and reskilling opportunities to improve the skills profile of our local workforce.

If you are not eligible for Skills UP funding you may still complete the course and fees can be provided.
Courses will be delivered online and learners must have access to a computer or laptop and the internet.
Assessment involves completion of a range of online tasks, production of models and information with written responses to questions, to produce evidence to meet the required skills and outcomes.
The course is delivered in English.

The Level 3 Certificate will provide the learner with further skills in the application of BIM principles, objects and management which will enhance employment opportunities.
