TWI CL is part of The Welding Institute Group.  The Welding Institute is the leading professional engineering institution for welding. The CSWTO certification assures that our fully trained lecturers, facilities, equipment and teaching materials meet the standards required by industry.

Who is it for?

Welders, operators and line inspectors who undertake visual examination of welded joints. Also, for quality control staff associated with welding and all staff who need basic training in welding inspection coupled with a qualification in this field.

To identify various weld imperfections (defects)

• To understand the relevant welding technology related to visual inspection
• To understand the need for documentation in welding
• To be aware of codes and standards related to inspection requirements
• To carry out inspection of parent materials and consumables
• To carry out visual inspection of welds, report on them and assess their compliance with specified acceptance criteria
• To pass the CSWIP Visual Welding Inspector qualification.</''>

No specific experience is required but it is recommended that candidates possess a minimum of six months' welding-related engineering experience and two years' industrial experience.

Total cost for training and exam £800

Assessment

Start date and other course info will be available when suitable dates for training have been agreed with TWI invigilator availability for exam.

TWI will supervise exam after 2 days training with qualified TWI accredited BMC tutor.
