Belfast Met are members of the Certification Scheme for Welder Training Organisations (CSWTO), from TWI Certification Ltd (TWI CL). TWI CL is part of The Welding Institute Group.  The Welding Institute is the leading professional engineering institution for people involved in welding and joining.  The CSWTO certification assures that our fully-trained lecturers, facilities, equipment and teaching materials meet the standards required by industry.

These qualifications are ideal for experienced welders who require relevant coding qualifications to help them meet industrial requirements or students with 3268 Level 2/Level 3 wishing to progress as welders in industry.

Our training is delivered in accordance with the following international welding standards:

Plate ISO 4872 £180

Plate ISO 9606 £350

Pipe ISO 9606 £550

Successful welder assessments can gain TWI Welder certification against the relevant standard/code (eg ISO 4872, ISO 9606-1, ASME IX, AWS D 1.1)

Our welder training also satisfies the entry requirements for the Certification Scheme for Welding Inspection Personnel (CSWIP) Visual Welding Inspector examination (Available at Belfast Met) so our welding trainees can add a CSWIP 3.0 Visual Welding Inspector certificate to their course achievements.  

 

Requirements

Each candidate is required to attend an assessment session prior to testing to ensure they are capable of producing acceptable test piece.

No specific experience is required but it is recommended that candidates possess a minimum of six months' welding-related engineering experience and two years' industrial experience.

Assessment

TWI will supervise exam after 2 days training with a qualified TWI examiner.

When you book onto your assessment you will need to bring evidence of your C&G Level 2 3268 or above or any pre-existing coding qualifications, your CV and a letter of intent from your employer.
