Overview
Please note all enrolled students will be entered for exam
This course is intensive and is delivered one evening per week for one year.
It is essential that you attend all classes, those delivered in college will allow the development of practical and examination skills required for external assessment. It follows the CCEA GCSE Biology, revised specification 2017, subject code 1010, which is available form: https://ccea.org.uk/key-stage-4/gcse/subjects/gcse-biology-2017
Online delivery will use a combination of platforms mainly the college learning environment and Microsoft teams.
The course encourages students to develop a positive view of Biology and to appreciate its value in their lives and the wider world.
You will study the following units:
Unit 1: Cells, Living Processes and Biodiversity
Unit 2: Body Systems, Genetics, Microorganisms and Health
Unit 3: Practical Skills

You also will be required to:
- Use a computer for email, internet communication through Microsoft teams using video facility, internet based research, submission of homeworks/class activities revision purposes.
- Students taking these courses should allow for further hours of home study and online learning

Examination / Registration Fee = £50.00
Fees are payable annually.
All examinations take place in May/June completed at either Foundation or Higher Tier with advice from your tutor.
