Overview

The Level 2 Certificate in Nail Technology will consist of the necessary skills required to provide and maintain gel, acrylic and fibre glass nails, promote products and services, effectively follow client care and communication processes, and maintain health and safety.

The course will cover:

Tip application
Application of Acrylic and  Gel products
Maintenance of both systems
Removal techniques

This is a preparation for work unit, which is based on capability and knowledge. The unit is about the skills involved in applying and maintaining nail enhancements to current industry standards. The knowledge gained in this unit includes the preparation for, application, maintenance, and removal of one of the following nail enhancement systems - UV gel, wraps and liquid and powder.

Requirements

You will need to purchase a uniform and basic kit costing approximately £ 120.00. You may use your own uniform. Kit requirements will be explained during the first class. A professional dress code will need to be followed at all times. You will learn all practical aspects within your peer group, and you will be assessed on clients. This course is a blended delivery of theory on Teams to allow for practical time in the classroom, learners are expected to use the course Teams site for study and submission of  assignments.

Please note this qualification is delivered and assessed in English. It is therefore essential that learners who do not have English as their first language hold a minimum of a level 2 ESOL qualification in written and spoken English.

Fees are payable annually.

Assessment

Assessment is completed through practical skills demonstration and assignments.

This qualification may lead to employment opportunities in Beauty/Nail industry, gain accreditation or enhance existing skills.
Further study in the Level 2 Awards in Beauty Therapy
