Overview
The Music Industry Level 2 Traineeship is designed for post-16 learners who wish to improve their basic instrumental and production skills with a working knowledge of the music industry.
Learners will explore elements such as music theory, music production and self-promotion. Performance classes are designed to develop students’ existing instrumental skills, whilst production classes will develop knowledge and understanding of production software and the recording studio. Successful learners may be able to progress onto the Level 3 Music Performance or Production courses subject to meeting course entry requirements or take up entry-level work in the industry.

Academic Course Entry Requirements
Minimum entry requirements are pre-defined by the College’s admissions criteria, which can be found by visiting our entry criteria page on this link
Achieve or have achieved 4 GCSEs grades A-G with a minimum
· GCSE grade E in Mathematics and
· GCSE grade E in English
Please note: Students are expected to provide their own instrument to further encourage learning and growth of proficiency during the course.

Non-academic course entry requirements
Important: All applicants must also meet the following conditions:
- be 16 years old by 1 July 2026.
- provide proof of:
- Right to Study in the UK. For courses with work placement, proof of your right to work in the UK is also required.
- Photographic proof of identity
- Provide translated copies of and/or demonstrate equivalency of non-UK qualifications.
