Overview
The OCN NI Level 3 Certificate in Tour Guiding is designed to build on the OCN NI Level 2 Award and will develop and enhance tour guiding skills and practice.
It will provide learners with the practical skills and knowledge that are required to research and deliver tour commentaries and lead groups on walking tours and moving vehicle tours within a city.
Learners will be introduced to business enterprise and planning and will investigate the importance of customer service in relation to tour guiding.
This qualification is for learners who are currently working or volunteering as Tour Guides within the travel and tourism industry.

Enhance entry criteria for this course is listed below:
- Learners should have completed a Level 2 Award in tour guiding.
Proof of qualifications MUST be provided when you enrol, e.g. exam certificates.
All courses within Belfast Met are delivered and assessed in English, apart from language-specific courses. Your competence in English must be verified prior to enrolling on your chosen course.
It is therefore essential that learners who do not have English as their first language hold a minimum of a level 2 ESOL qualification in written and spoken English.

Examination / Registration Fee = £70.00
Tuition Fee = £495.00
Fees are payable annually.

If you are an employee of a NI Business with less than 250 employees, your employer may be eligible to apply for funding towards the cost of this programme.

Applicants are advised that elements of this course can be physically demanding to include compulsory walking tours that can last more than three or four hours.
Careers
The OCN NI Level 3 Certificate in Tour Guiding enables progression into further learning in this area or into employment. Successful outcomes may enable you to use it towards Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning- (APEL) to progress on to the Level 4 Certificate in Higher Education in Tour Guiding (validated by Ulster University) held at the Belfast Met.
