Overview

The Belfast Digital Skills & Employability Programme is an inclusive initiative designed to help develop digital skills and boost employment potential. Funded by the Bank of America, this programme aims to increase participation of under-represented individuals in gaining industry relevant skills and access to education and employment opportunities.

Each Digital Skills Academy has a particular focus on supporting those most socially and economically disadvantaged, such as people not currently in employment, education, or training or who have caring responsibilities.

By joining the Digital Skills Academy, you will gain:

  • Digital Skills: Learn how to generate story ideas, craft scripts, understand crew roles, operate film equipment, and produce a short film, whilst working towards an OCN NI Level 3 award in Professional and Technical Media Production Practices. Through this Digital Skills Academy, you will have the opportunity to showcase your film to industry experts for feedback and advice.

  • Employability – Learn how to better understand and develop your strengths, qualities, skills, and abilities whilst building confidence in how to move into the workplace.

  • Employer Engagement – Participants will have the opportunity to network with local film, TV, gaming, and animation employers during a Creative Industries Careers Week.
