Overview

Providing exciting employment opportunities and gaining transferable skills that will allow you to progress at all levels, discover new countries, cultures and people. All our courses will provide you with hands-on experiential learning preparing you for a career in one of the most exciting industries around the globe.
This Higher-Level Apprenticeship (HLA) has been developed in consultation with the hospitality industry to support you on your journey into management.
This HLA involves a combination of recognised learning, one day in college, supported by “on the job” learning and coaching from workplace mentors as well as self-managed study. This HLA helps you combine theoretical understanding with practical and vocational skills while preparing you for an exciting and vibrant career within the hospitality industry.
The HLA in Hospitality Management delivers both skills development and knowledge enhancement using a blended learning and mentor-based approach in partnership with your employer within the hospitality industry.
This level 5 HLA programme will provide a fully funded career development pathway, enabling new or existing staff to advance into supervisory/operational management positions within their chosen industry sector.
Working towards the achievement of a Foundation Degree in Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management with Hospitality Specialisms (validated by Ulster University), you will benefit from learning and development in core skills such as:

Enhance entry criteria for this course is listed below:
· A minimum of 64 tariff points (UCAS New tariff points for entry to Higher Education)
· You must also have minimum Grade C/04 in GCSE English Language (or equivalent).
Applicants who do not meet the tariff points but do have prior learning and or specific industry experience may avail of the APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) subject to Belfast Met APEL Guidelines. (Early application is advised if you require APEL)
Proof of qualifications MUST be provided when you enrol, e.g. exam certificates.
Achieved and pending qualifications can be recorded now by logging into your online application account.
All courses within Belfast Met are delivered and assessed in English, apart from language-specific courses. Your competence in English must be verified prior to enrolling on your chosen course.

This course is fully funded by the Department for the Economy.
Students will be required to contribute approximately £100 towards the cost of educational visits on this programme.

Assessments include a mix of practical and written assessments. In the workplace you will be assessed to ensure you have the competencies needed for a specific area of work.
