Overview

Discover the OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma in IT. A dynamic two-year program equivalent to three A-Levels, offered at our centrally located Millfield campus. This course is designed to equip you with specialised knowledge, skills and understanding required in the IT sector, including key employability skills and how to apply them in real-world contexts.

As an equivalence to three A-levels, this qualification is a perfect launch point to continue their studies at Belfast Met or pursue undergraduate IT courses at university. In the second year, you may* also have the opportunity to earn Microsoft Certifications, preparing you for in-demand IT roles.

Location

The course is taught at our Millfield Campus, which is situated in Belfast City Centre, just a short walk from Grand Central Station and City Hall. Our Millfield campus also offers an on-site student car park. Due to its strategic location, it benefits from excellent transport links across Belfast and beyond.

About the Course

Throughout the course, you will receive an education in Computing, Cyber Security and Cloud Technologies. These units will equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to understand new and emerging technologies, preparing you to advance to our Higher Education programs or pursue careers in various IT fields.

Assessment

As part of the assessment process, you will undertake exams and numerous projects, gaining experience in project management, research and design, software development for specific needs and client interactions.
