Overview
This two-year course aims to provide you with the skills and knowledge to help you take off towards an exciting career in the airline and airport industry, offering a unique learning environment which includes our aircraft cabin mock-up. This facility provides students with state-of-the-art industry training experiences which prepares students fully for their careers and develop the highest professional standards. Students will progress from level 2 qualifications in year 1 to a level 3 qualification in year 2.
If you love meeting new people and have big plans to be adventurous and explore exciting destinations, we will give you the specialist knowledge and skills needed to prepare you for a career as cabin crew or working within an airport operational environment.
The course includes a range of core and optional subjects which include:
- Working as Cabin Crew
- Dealing with on-board emergency situations
- Airport Check-in, Aircraft Boarding and Arrivals
- Worldwide Airlines
- UK Airports
- Investigating Cabin Crew
The course is taught by industry professionals, which gives you first-hand knowledge and experience from people who have worked in the industry to enable you to develop to your full potential.
This programme of study is likely to include additional enrichment activities/module(s) which are included to enhance your employability.

Entry criteria for this course are listed below:
- Applicants should have 4 GCSE’s and must include a Grade C/4 in GCSE English Language* (or equivalent e.g., Essential Skills Literacy Level 2).
- Applicants should have a GSCE Maths, Grade D and will be required to complete a Maths GCSE/Essential Skills in the first year of study.
Proof of qualifications MUST be provided when you enrol, e.g., exam certificates.
Achieved and pending qualifications can be recorded now by logging into your online application account.
All courses within Belfast Met are delivered and assessed in English, apart from language-specific courses. Your competence in English must be verified prior to enrolling on your chosen course.

All fees are set in accordance with DfE regulations.
This course tuition fee is fully funded by the Department for the Economy.
Students will visit different attractions as part of the course, some of which will be at an additional cost of approximately £ 30.00.
Assessment will be carried out in the form of building a portfolio of evidence.
