Overview
This programme of study and practice is particularly aimed at students who wish to develop a career in Sports Journalism, either as reporters for their chosen sports, or as Press officers for their clubs or organisations.
The course will be delivered by a media professional and students will have the opportunity to gain a recognised academic qualification in Sports Journalism as well as develop their underpinning knowledge and practical expertise.
The course will focus on four key sports:
- Gaelic
- Soccer
- Rugby
- Hockey
Students will also be able to develop their skills in other major and minor sports. The course consists of six units with one core unit - Law and Ethics for Sports Journalism.
The other five units are:
- Grammatical Presentation for Sports Journalism
- Multi-platform Skills for Sports Journalism
- Sports Journalism Editing Skills
- Sports Journalism Interview Techniques
- Sports Journalism Research Techniques.

FE Tuition Fee = £435.00 (Concessionary = £261.00)
Fees are payable annually.
Careers
Students could use the course to progress to level 4 or 5 courses in general media or a specific journalism programme.
