Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald with Neil Hutcheson (CEO Software NI) and Margaret McCabe (Business & Skills, Belfast Metropolitan College)
Belfast Met joined Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald and Software NI CEO Neil Hutcheson to launch Northern Ireland’s first Assured Skills Academy in software sales.
Fully funded by the Department for the Economy (DfE), the eight-week programme will equip participants with the practical skills and real-world experience needed to succeed in high-demand tech sales roles.
Belfast Met will co-design and deliver the Academy in collaboration with a consortium of leading industry partners, ensuring the curriculum reflects current employer needs.
Delivered at the College’s e3 campus from Monday 3 August 2026, the programme will connect local talent directly with the workforce, with all successful participants guaranteed a job interview on completion.
Supporting companies include First Derivatives (an EPAM company), Everway, ComplyFirst, Version 1, Analytic Engines, Cloudsmith, SciLeads and Workplus.
Roles linked to the Academy offer starting salaries typically ranging from £25,000 to £30,000
The initiative highlights Belfast Met’s continued commitment to supporting skills development and creating clear pathways into employment within Northern Ireland’s growing technology sector.
