Belfast Met lecturer honoured at Ascentis 50th Anniversary Lifetime Learning Awards
Belfast Metropolitan College is proud to announce that ESOL lecturer Anna Maria Arwanitaki has been named Educator of the Year at the prestigious Ascentis 50th Anniversary Lifetime Learning Awards.
The awards recognise individuals and teams who consistently strive to inspire and empower learners.
The Educator Award honours a teacher who has delivered Ascentis qualifications while consistently going above and beyond for their learners – an achievement the judging panel unanimously felt described Anna’s contribution.
Judges praised Anna’s “extraordinary dedication to delivering ESOL” and her commitment to creating innovative, inclusive and supportive learning environments. They highlighted the impact of her work both inside and outside the classroom, noting her creativity, compassion and unwavering focus on learner success.
Anna said she was “delighted and very honoured” to receive the award, adding:
“I want to thank my fantastic colleagues at Belfast Met for nominating me – teamwork is fundamental to our success and I accept this award on behalf of all my ESOL colleagues. Our learners inspire us every day and we strive to give them the best possible experience.”
The award was presented at the Ascentis National Conference in London, where educators and learners from across the UK gathered to celebrate outstanding contributions to lifelong learning.
