Overview
This two-year course is designed to give you the knowledge and skills that are required to work in the travel and tourism industry. This course is broadly equivalent to three GCE A Levels. The course will include visits to tourist attractions and destinations and will allow you to gain first-hand experience of the industry. Students will engage with a variety of travel and tourism organisations, explore different job roles, and have the opportunity to participate in a range of funded and self-funded trips.

The programme consists of specialist units that are industry focused and will enable students to prepare for a career in travel and tourism. The units may change from year to year and would typically include for example:
- Travel and Tourism Destinations
- Customer Service
- Visitor Attractions
- Tour Guiding
- The Cruise Industry
- Understanding the Accommodation Sector
- The Role of a Holiday Representative

Enhance entry criteria for this course is listed below:
- Applicants should have 4 GCSE's
- Applicants’ qualifications must include a Grade C/4 in GCSE English Language* (or equivalent e.g., Essential Skills Literacy Level 2).
- Applicants should possess a minimum of Grade D in GCSE Maths. Students with a Grade D in Maths will be required to complete a GCSE/Essential Skills in the first year of study.
Proof of qualifications MUST be provided when you enrol, e.g., exam certificates.
Achieved and pending qualifications can be recorded now by logging into your online application account.
All courses within Belfast Met are delivered and assessed in English, apart from language-specific courses. Your competence in English must be verified prior to enrolling on your chosen course.
Entry requirements can change and be discussed on an individual basis if necessary.
In the event of undersubscription, course criteria may be lowered.

All fees are set in accordance with DfE regulations.
This course tuition fee is fully funded by the Department for the Economy.
Students will visit different attractions as part of the course, some of which will be at an additional cost.
Students will be assessed using presentations, written assessments, group work and role play. There are no exams on this course.
