Overview

This two-year course is suitable for anyone who wishes to pursue a career in the events industry. Events is a growing industry in Northern Ireland. It is an exciting and dynamic sector, forever changing and growing. The sector provides an excellent range of job opportunities, particularly in the Travel and Tourism Sector. If you are passionate about meeting people, a great organiser and have a flair for creativity and tourism this is the course for you.

About this course

The programme consists of specialist units that are industry focused and will enable students to prepare for a career in Events and/or travel and tourism. The units may change from year to year and would typically include for example:

Manage a Small Event
Manage a Showcase Event
Event Set up and Breakdown.
Visitor Attractions
Tour Guiding
Global and Cultural Events
The Cruise Industry

Requirements

Academic course entry requirements

You must hold a minimum four GCSE's including:

English grade A-C or equivalent and
Maths grade A-D or equivalent Students with a Grade D in Maths will be required to complete a GCSE/Essential Skills in the first year of study.

Non-academic course entry requirements

Important: All applicants must also meet the following conditions:

be 16 years old by 1 July 2026.

provide proof of:

§ Right to Study in the UK. For courses with work placement, proof of your right to work in the UK is also required.

§ Photographic proof of identity

Provide translated copies of and/or demonstrate equivalency of non-UK qualifications.

Assessment

Students will be assessed using presentations, written assessments, group work and role play. There are no exams on this course.
