Overview
This TAQA qualification replaces the V1 Internal Verifier unit and the D34 unit. It is designed to support the quality assurance of all new RQF and QCF qualifications and other accredited and non-accredited qualifications.
This award is designed for practitioners who conduct internal assurance of the assessment process from within a centre or organisation, by sample planning, monitoring, and advising on the practice of assessors.
The award comprises of 2 units:
- Unit 4 Understanding the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of Assessment (6 credits)
- Unit 5 Internally Assure the Quality Assessment (6 credits)
You will be required to attend 1 day training workshop followed by one-to-one tutorials and workplace assignments.
Course units:
Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training (3 credits).
Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training (6 credits)
Understanding assessment in education and training (3 credits)

Candidates undertaking this award must be providing internal quality assurance of the assessment process for at least 2 assessors within their organisation. Ideally, they should also hold a recognised assessor qualification such as a TAQA Assessor Certificate or Award for the A1 or D32/33 units.
To confirm that you have the skills, potential and opportunity to gain the qualification successfully, attendance at an initial pre-entry guidance session and completion of a skills scan will be mandatory.
All courses within Belfast Met are delivered and assessed in English, apart from language-specific courses. Your competence in English must be verified prior to enrolling on your chosen course.

Examination / Registration Fee = £95.00
Tuition Fee = £325.00
Fees are payable annually.
You will be assessed though compilation of a portfolio of evidence to include assignment, observation of internal quality assurance practice and professional discussion.
