Overview
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is a knowledge and practice-based introduction to teaching and/or training. Candidates who successfully complete this qualification will have a fundamental understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer in relation to Professional Standards, legislation, equality, diversity, inclusivity and meeting the needs of learners. They will be able to sequence learning, plan and deliver lessons, using appropriate resources, teaching methods, and learning theories. They will also be able to identify the characteristics of effective assessment and feedback practice in the learning context.
Course units:
Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training (3 credits).
Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training (6 credits)
Understanding assessment in education and training (3 credits)

Enhanced criteria for this course is:
- Hold a Level 3 qualification and vocational skills, preferably in the subject you wish to teach.
- Hold a GCSE or equivalent qualification in English Language.
- Applicants should also be able to evidence competency in written English and a good standard of communication skills via completion of a pre-enrolment initial assessment.
- City & Guilds age group approved - 19 years old

Examination / Registration Fee = £85.00
Tuition Fee = £240.00
Fees are payable annually.
This qualification will be assessed by a combination of written assignments and micro-teaching practice. Assignments incorporate a range of theoretical, practical and reflective learning tasks.
Careers
Successful completion will enable you to progress to the City and Guilds Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.
Students also complete the Level 3 Award in Education and Training to enhance their application for places on Higher Education teaching qualifications and to extend their continuous professional development portfolio to support application for teaching and training positions in the public, private and voluntary/community sectors.
